Every fifth industry job will be gone by 2020

Børsen newspaper wrote an article on the Danish manufacturing competitiveness and referenced an upcoming BCG report and analysis on the Nordic Manufacturing Industry. BCG's data predicts that 64,000 industry jobs will be lost by 2020 and BCG's Ian Colotla was interviewed regarding the main reasons as to why Denmark is challenged regarding future industry jobs.


Green images or new innovations?

BCG's Teemu Ruska wrote that according to a recent study by BCG and MIT Sloan Management Review (The Innovation Bottom Line), companies are not only profiting from their sustainability efforts but also changing their business models to generate that profit. Ruska's article was published in Talouselämä magazine.


Challengers the engines for growth

Kauppalehti newspaper wrote an article on how the impact of the top companies from the rapidly developing economies grows in the global economy. The article was based on the BCG report, Allies and Adversaries: 2013 BCG Global Challengers. BCG's Pekka Vanne says the companies in the study give a face to the challengers from RDEs. The list of 100 Global Challengers includes companies from 17 different countries.


Global Challengers challenging the old giants

Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten wrote an article on the BCG report, Allies and Adversaries: 2013 BCG Global Challengers. BCG identified the 100 fast-globalizing companies from rapidly developing economies and point to a range of tendencies which is worth noticing if the Western companies wish to stay acute and be prepared for the competition. BCG's Lars Fæste stated, "While we in Europe are grumbling, the Indians and Chinese talk about the present as 'the best of all times'."

Specifically, the report reveals a list of problems for the life science-industry and identifies 9 strategic focus areas, beacons, which will be attractive for Medicon Valley to focus on to create impact and assure the future competitiveness of the life science industry in the Øresund region.

Kauppalehti wrote that the findings of the Nordic Value Creators study by The Boston Consulting Group are devastating when it comes to Finland. BCG's Tuukka Seppä finds the results concerning. Only a relatively small number of Finnish companies have managed to grow and increase their profitability over the past five years, and the performance gap between the top quartile and the bottom quartile is widening.
